St Paul’s, in common with other churches, will be supporting Christian Aid Week, 14th - 20th May 2023.
Christian Aid aims to reduce poverty wherever it is encountered around the world. This year, it will be focusing attention on Malawi where the recent cyclone, Freddy, has washed away crops and displaced ovr 500000 people.
We will not be making door-to-door collections, but we would welcome any donations to this cause. If you would like a donation envelope, please let us know via the Contact Us page.

The Coronation of King Charles III is now almost upon us and we are looking forward to marking the occasion at St Paul's.
We will be holding a Thanksgiving service on 7th May in honour of our new monarch, which all are welcome to attend. All are welcome also on the day itself, 6th May, as we open the church in order that the ceremony may be watched live on the screens.
The Coronation liturgy is available to donwload here:
All will be welcome to join us at our Easter services. Our Maundy Thursday service will take place on 6th April at 7:00 pm, with our Easter Sunday service being held on 9th April at 10:00 am. We hope that this will be an especially joyful time.
A field maple sapling was planted in the garden below the church on 30th March 2023 as part of the Queen's Green Canopy (QGC) initiative. A photo appears on this page.
The QGC was initiated to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum anniversary in June 2022, with the purpose of encouraging the planting of new trees across the country. St Paul's was fortunate to be successful in its application for one of a hundred saplings offered by the Diocese of Exeter to churches in its parishes participating in the scheme.
The sapling suffered during re-potting and it was not feasible to plant it in the autumn of 2022 as originally planned. Following the death of the late Queen, and the accession of King Charles III to the throne, the QGC was extended until March 2023. With the sapling putting out healthy growth, we have now planted it and have had confirmation that it has been included in the Queen's Green Canopy.
We hope that we can dedicate the sapling during the Coronation weekend.
All will be welcome to join us as we hold our APCM on 14th May at 11:30am in the church.
The routine business of the meeting will involve the presentation of the Annual Report on the operation of the church during the year 2022 as well as the accounts for the same period. Elections will include two Churchwardens, one member to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) as well as sidespersons. Anyone who is registered on the church Electoral Roll may vote in these elections.
Officers who will be responsible for running various aspects of the church will be appointed.
During Lent we are running a course in which we examine aspects of the Christian faith and are using use the film Chocolat as our source material. The series began on 22nd February and will continue weekly on Wednesdays between 7 and 9 pm until 22nd March. All are welcome to join us.
